What Causes Excessive Sweating?

If pit stains and sweat marks frequent your everyday life, it may be an issue of hyperhidrosis (a.k.a excessive sweating). This is a condition that causes heavy sweating apart from extreme temperatures or exercise in areas such as armpits, face, hands, and feet.

Sweating is a direct cause of your body’s nervous system sending signals to your sweat glands saying, “I need to cool off!” This can also occur when you’re stressed. Hyperhidrosis, however, triggers the sweat glands at random.

It is a mystery as to why hyperhidrosis occurs–although it may be attributed to hereditary factors. Secondary hyperhidrosis stems from medical conditions such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Menopause
  • Heart Attacks
  • Infections
  • Thyroid Problems
  • Nervous System Disorders
  • Specific Cancer Types

How Does Lifted Treat Excessive Sweating?

If this is a case where something store-bought is not a solution, it may be time to see us at Lifted Beauty + Wellness. Beat excessive sweating and hyperhidrosis with BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments.

When most people think about BOTOX® Cosmetic, they think about facial injections to treat wrinkles. But the chemical properties of this treatment can also be used to prevent the release of chemicals that activate the sweat glands.

BOTOX® injections block the nervous system from producing too much sweat with the botulinum toxin, which normally stops excess sweating for up to six months. As the nerves regenerate, treatment will be required to keep hyperhidrosis at bay.
