Nitronox
What is Nitronox?
Nitronox is a pain relief system that uses oxygen (O2) and nitrous oxide (N2O) to maximize a patient’s comfort during an aesthetic or medical procedure. At Lifted Beauty + Wellness, we use the Nitronox system to help manage pain and anxiety during treatment sessions. This safe and effective system allows us to enhance your overall experience at our beauty + wellness center in Seattle, Washington. Nitronox can be used during the following treatments:
How does Nitronox work?
An equal measure of 50% O2 and 50% N2O is directly delivered to the patient on an “as needed” basis. The Nitronox system will actually be controlled by you. During your appointment, we will wheel in the system on a 2-cylinder cart. It has built-in wheels so that we can easily move it around our office. Oxygen and nitrous oxide are delivered via mask, and with oxygen-driven pressure control, the system is designed to immediately shut off the N2O in the event of O2 depletion. Exhaled gas is properly vented with the Nitronox Scavenger tube, which connects to a vacuuming system. There is also a built-in oxygen fail safe to prevent the delivery of nitrous oxide without oxygen.
What can I expect during my appointment?
When you come in for your appointment, you will have the option of using the Nitronox system. It is fast-acting and takes effect within minutes. The effects of the system only last a short duration, too, so you will be able to drive home after your appointment. Nitronox’s demand flow ensures that you only receive what you inhale. During your aesthetic treatment, you will hold a hand held supply valve in order to self-administer the mixture of N2O and O2. If you have any questions or concerns about Nitronox before your treatment, please let us know.
