Fall Skin Tips

Fall Skin Tips

As the seasons change so should your skincare routine. We are embracing fall in the Northwest with sweaters and rain boots. But with declines in temperature and humidity, your skin may start to feel like the fall leaves look. There is less moisture in the fall air to hydrate your skin naturally, so your skin may start feeling itchy and dry. Hyperpigmentation tends to appear, as well as dull-looking skin. To combat the changing weather, we are giving you a few fall skin tips:

Cleanse + Tone

Focus on a cleanser that will help with hydration. Try using the creamy Milky Lotion Cleanser from Epionce. 1-2 pumps of the cleanser are enough to effectively remove dirt, oil, and makeup without stripping natural oils that keep your skin healthy. Then spray Balancing Toner all over face and body to hydrate and soothe dry skin.

Hydrate

“It might be time to say goodbye to the lightweight moisturizer you’ve been using all summer,” says Samantha, Lifted’s Master Aesthetician. “Adjusting your Renewal Facial products to a heavier emollient, like Renewal Facial Cream or Intensive Nourishing Cream, will help maintain moisture in the skin.”

Masking in the fall is a great way to hydrate your skin on the cold, rainy days where you would rather stay inside. Using the Enriched Firming Mask weekly will give skin a visible boost of hydration and calm to help rejuvenate dry irritated skin.

Renewal Calming Cream is ideal for the face and body to help relieve and protect dry, itchy skin due to environmental factors or eczema flares triggered by changes in the temperature.

Add a humidifier to your home or office to increase moisture in the air. Changes in your skincare routine include your hands and body too. Toss a Restorative Hand Cream in your purse for hydration on the go.  For your body try Renewal Body Lotion or step-up to Enriched Body Cream.

Correct

Fall is a great time of year to repair skin damage that occurred during the summer months brought on by increased exposure to UV rays, heat, sweat, chlorine or saltwater. Hyperpigmentation tends to appear, as well as dull-looking skin. Both products and treatments can help correct the damage.

Epionce offers the Melanolyte treatment which is an 18-week protocol for skin brightening and is an excellent accompaniment to IPL Photofacials to diminish hyperpigmentation and redness that surfaced during the summer.

To help with dull skin using a Lytic Tx product for your appropriate skin type will smooth skin contour, clear out pores and improve anti-aging results. Pair this with your monthly HydraFacial treatments to replace the antioxidants summer strip away and we can add a boost with HydroPeptide’s Power Serum for maximum hydration to repair and strengthen the infrastructure of your skin.

The keys to your best skin

  • “Listen to your skin; how you feel will change the products you apply each day,” says Samantha.  “We just need to adjust your skincare routine to match what you’re needing.”
  • Check-in with your skin throughout the day.  How is your skin reacting to the weather and your environment?
  • Remember that anytime you add a product or change your routine, your skin will need time to adapt. Use your new routine for at least a couple of weeks before determining that it’s not working.
  • Make product changes gradually. Start with just changing your cleanser and give that a week or so then change your toner and watch how your skin responds with each change. Give it the time it needs to level out before you make your next change.
