Coconut Water – For Hydrated Radiant Skin

Coconut Water – For Hydrated Radiant Skin

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – there is absolutely no way for your skin to look radiant if it is dehydrated. Coconut water helps to address this by rehydrating the body including the connective tissues, like collagen in the skin.

Coconut water is colorless, sweet, and naturally flavored slightly acidic drink. Decades of research have shown that coconut water is a rich source of nutrients, including essential amino acids (lysine, leucine, cysteine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, histidine, and tryptophan), palmitic and oleic acids, and dietary minerals. Other minerals such as iron, zinc (this makes it great for acne), and manganese are present at appreciable levels. It contains vitamins b1, b2, b6, b9, and C. This combination of B vitamins and vitamin C is what is largely responsible for creating that expensive-looking glow we are all chasing.

On a fitness kick? Coconut water is a great post-workout drink because of its balance of electrolytes (including calcium, magnesium, and potassium). It works to replace lost fluids and salts in minutes. It also works to boost your metabolism and reduce bloating – ideal for sufferers of digestive problems like IBS.

A diuretic, coconut water helps speed up the elimination of toxins and helps regulate blood sugar, making it an excellent choice for diabetics and anyone with blood-sugar issues.

Coconut water contains nutrients that work to support cell growth and turnover for a younger-looking complexion, while anti-inflammatory phytochemicals help to regulate the body’s pH levels for a clearer, less breakout-prone skin.

So, if you are looking for glowing, radiant, hydrated skin – consider adding a ¼ cup of coconut water into your morning routine.

Good For: Aging skin, Anti-aging, acne, sun-seekers, everyone (as long as you’re not allergic)
