The FIRST Step to Healthy Skin . . . Cleanse!

The FIRST Step to Healthy Skin . . . Cleanse!

The first step to healthy skin is cleansing. In order to prepare the skin to receive therapeutic ingredients, it must be free of dirt, makeup and other impurities. One thing that separates Epionce cleansers from other cleansers on the market is the unique ability to deep clean without stripping the skin of natural oils necessary to keep the skin barrier healthy. This means the skin will be clean and fresh without feeling dry, tight or stripped.

Here are some of our favorite tips to leave your skin feeling clean, refreshed, and smooth:

Do you double cleanse?

If you wear heavy make-up, reapply sunscreen several times, or are very active sometimes washing your face once just isn’t enough.

For clients who fall into these categories we recommend you wash your face once to remove makeup/sunscreen, then wash a second time to clean skin. Some patients prefer using one cleanser to remove makeup – such as Milky Lotion Cleanser – and a different cleanser for the second cleanse – such as Gentle Foaming Cleanser or Lytic Gel Cleanser.

Does your cleanser leave your skin feeling dry and tight?

After washing your face you should be left feeling clean and refreshed, not dry and tight. If you are feeling dry and tight it could be that you are cleansing too frequently or your cleanser is stripping your barrier of the natural oils it needs to be healthy.

For some clients, we recommend washing your face nightly and just rinsing with cold water in the morning. For clients with oily skin, we might recommend a double cleanse in the evening with Milky Lotion Cleanser and Lytic Gel Cleanser and in the morning with just one of the products based on how their skin is feeling.

Your routine and product selection all comes down to how your skin feels.

Is there a right and wrong way to wash your face?

We recommend you avoid using washcloths or sponges and hot water. Epionce cleansers are designed to effectively cleanse dirt, makeup and oil. Washcloths and sponges can tear the skin barrier which results in inflammation. Instead, we recommend using clean hands and cold water.

Got Bacne?

Epionce cleansers are not just for your face. Use a few pumps of Epionce Lytic Gel Cleanser in the shower, especially after a workout or an active summer day, to reduce inflammation and help minimize breakouts.

Lytic Gel Cleanser is ideal for your patients in the summer! More activity outdoors as well as heat and impurities from pools or beaches can compromise the skin. Lytic Gel Cleanser works to:

•Eliminate surface microbes
•Calm and soothe inflammation
•Reduce acne breakouts
•Control excess oil production

Why we love Epionce Cleansers:

  • pH balanced for skin
  • Promotes cell turnover to encourage new skin cells
  • Won’t strip the skin of necessary oils to keep skin healthy
  • Does not contain exfoliating beads, which damage the barrier and cause inflammation
  • Contains active, therapeutic ingredients
  • Paraben and sulfate-free
